What’s the best/easiest way to wire three Jl 12W3v2-d2?
I need either a one or two ohm stable load for my amplifier, and I can’t find the right combination to make it work… For non-JL users, these are 12″ subwoofers with dual 2-ohm impedances. So each sub can be wired to 1 OR 4 ohms… theoretically.
Any bright ideas? I’m stumped, but I’m building the box now, so there’s no way to accomodate more or less speakers.

You aren’t going to get a 1 or 2 ohm load with all three of those subs wired together. You could only get one if you wired 2 subs up to a 2 ohm load and then ran the other off a 1 or 4 ohm load, which means two amps. You could also wire it up to a 1 or 4 ohm and get three amps. With those subs you are going to get either a 3 ohm or 1.3333 ohm load.
JL makes the 1000/1 which runs 1000w rms at any impedance from 1.5 to 4 ohms. Alpine also has a new amp that is able to do this. You could look into those.
If you are able to find another wiring combination that would get you either a 1 or 2 ohm load i wouldn’t try to wire it that way. That is because you will probably have to wire it in a way that distributes more power to a certain sub or subs. This will mean that your subs are getting a different amount of power which can lead to bad sound and possibly damaging your subs.
